Before we would take off touring the world, Gilles had to get his diving license and Heidi had to refresh her knowledge. The most pleasant and quickest way to do this is surely the Red Sea, because it is rather close, not that expensive and offers great diving spots. Diving, nothing but diving in Marsa Alam

After seven months of excruciating job hunting, I finally had a new contract in my pocket with Konica Minolta. With one month free before I would start working again, I decided to grab the moment and treat myself to some serious scuba-diving in southern Egypt. Trading a day in Addis Abeba for the Pyramids

Instead of relaxing at least one day in Addis Abeba before heading towards the Omo Valley, we were determined to make the most of our day in Cairo. Even though this stop-over came as a total surprise, we did not have to think twice about what to do there. More challenging was to get a feeling for prices so quickly.
